Their home is 8 miles S of Alfred State College (SUNY) and Alfred University in Alfred, NY and 35 miles S of Houghton College in Houghton, NY. They are 90 miles S of Rochester and Buffalo, NY and 40 miles W of Corning, NY. Hiking, biking, X-country skiing, tours of Finger Lakes, wine region, Corning Glass Museum, Allegany Artisans (Oct.), Andover Maple Festival (Apr.), Letchworth Park are all close by. Her rural home is just 10 miles east of Ithaca and 10 miles west of I-81 freeway.

Nancy and Bert live in the parsonage--a split-level ranch of 1.5 acres in the foothills of the Catskills. Nancy is an ordained minister of the Reformed Church in America, the branch of Calvinism brought to the USA by the Dutch in the 17th Century. She loves living history, genealogy, art, reading, Japanese porcelain, embroidery and decorative items. Bert is a retired tour guide from Scotland who now does handyman jobs and loves history. The Mohonk Mountain House is just 5 miles away with its hiking trails and golf course. Plenty to do in area; antiques, historic sites and houses (Vanderbilt Mansion, Hyde Park), trout streams, canoeing, etc.

There are concerts, swimming, tennis, hiking trails and lectures at the lovely campus of Houghton College. She lives 60 miles from Rochester and Buffalo, NY and 11 miles from Letchworth State Park. Lois fellowships at a Baptist church.

They worship at a Gospel church.

Dave and Joanne live in a small resort mountain village with a lake and skiing nearby. The fall foliage can't be beat and in the winter. They are 25 minutes from Gore Mt. which offers skiing and snowboarding. It is less than an hour from Lake Placid and Whiteface Mt., home of the 1980 Olympics. Lake Placid is a wonderful town full of activities all year round. It is 90 minutes to New York's state capital, Albany is 90 min. and Montreal is 2 hrs. It is 30 minutes to Vermont and America's other 'Great Lake' Lake Champlain, and an hour and a half to Burlington, VT. Dave is a financial planner and investment counselor, avid sailor, hiker and part time pastor. He works out of the home. Joanne is an RN and avid Ebayer, sells cosmetics for Mary Kay and works with the women in their church. They love to travel! They have two college aged children. They worship at a Bible Chapel.

Carol and George are within an hour’s drive of skiing and hiking in the Catskill and Berkshire mountains and are just 3 miles from the Hudson River. George recently retired from full-time work as a chaplain in a residential treatment center for delinquent youth. He continues as a part-time co-pastor of a small non-denominational church. Carol is retired as a secretary of a large evangelical church. They both enjoy travel and their many grandchildren. George’s hobbies include hiking, railroads, photography and pipe organs. Carol’s hobbies include gardening and reading.

Jane is active in the small United Methodist church she attends.
